Practicing Patience

As an artist, I enjoy experimenting with different mediums. I had some latex paint leftover from a house project. I decided to experiment with the latex by creating molds, and focusing on gestural pours with linear elements. There was no way to determine the outcome of a line or movement without experimentation with the latex. I created individual compositions. The dry time was 4-6 months. This tested my patience but also allowed for the gestation necessary to determine my next step. I decided to deconstruct each poured compostion and then reassemble the new compostions using multiples works. The work is about deconstruction in order to create something vibrant and new!

Each piece took a minimum of 6 months to create due to the different dry times of the latex paint. I enjoyed making different patterns and textures with the paint and expanding the end result through pure experimentation.
